3 Ways You Know You're Ready to Start UNlearning.

June 18, 2015

"Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will."

- Romans 12:2 (NIV)

From the moment you entered into the earth, opposition was against you. You were in a nice comfy womb and out you came to the chill and sounds of reality....so you thought. Your parents had hopes and dreams for you before you had them for yourself.

So you've been reading about this whole "UNlearning" thing and some may be wondering, "What is that, really?" Well, I thought you'd never ask! Explanation? Don't mind if I do!

  1. You Have "Frustration Fits"

When you get frustrated with the job you go to everyday, the way that you brush your teeth, the way that your dog looks at you when you break out in song after killing your workout, you know, pretty much everything, then you're having what I like to call "Frustration Fits". These "fits" are when you an internal shift going on within you, but you don't even know what's going on and you don't quite know what to do about it. What you do know is that change is inevitable and that to have peace, you must go through the process, the process of unlearning. Congratulations, because you well on your way sweetie!

2.  You're Out of This World!

No one understands you when you speak? You feel like a stranger in a strange land? Want to totally abandon television as we know? Congratualtions, you're an alien! Lol, just kidding, just kidding....but this is how you tend to feel when you've subconsciously made a mental shift that is guaranteed to change your life! You don't see the world, opportunities or yourself the same. You are done with stupid-what are you talking about-this is a waste of my time-are you serious right now?-conversations. You've ascended mentally and even though you are new to this new, galactical habitation, there's absolutely no way you could go back to what you knew even if they paid you. You're out of this world, baby!!!

3.  You've Come to a Means to an E.N.D.

This one is probably one sign that most have an emotional challenge getting through. When you are ready to UNlearn an area in your life and become untethered to a model of how something is supposed to be or is, you begin to see the shift and change of your environment and relationships. In both of the mentioned areas it helps to put them into 3 different catagories:

- Evolve

- Nurture

- Dissolve

Evolve - relationships that were once priority, but must now evolve to fit into the new place that you've reached in life. They feel comfortable where they are and really don't want things to change or to reach for more for themselves. Yes, we use to talk and hang out all of the time, but because I like ya, I'm not going to kick you to the curb; it's more like I'm just dropping you off until next time...ya know?

Nurture - relationships that will be there until the wheels fall off! Thease are the lifetimers. These are the ones who know how crazy you are and are still there. They believe in you so much they would empty out their bank account to finance YOUR dream. They just "get" you without explanation, talking everyday or need for pragmatism in your thinking. They love you just the waaaayyy you arrrrrrrre.....(that's in my Billy Joel voice, I LOVE THAT SONG!!!)

Dissolve - awwww, he-haw-to-da-naw, they've gotta go! These can end peaceably, with the other not really feeling it or with no explanation at all. The main thing to remember here is to stick to your resolve to dissolve what no longer fits or belongs in your life. Big Girl panties look good on you gurl!

I'm sure that there are other signs but these seem to be the most recurrent and recognizable ones. As you grow in your youness, they become easy to spot a mile away and it takes a toll emotionally less and less. Rejoice! This is not the time to mourn over what was or what could be. Celebrate what IS and move in what you have now, Start UNlearning!

Did this help you AT ALL?! I believe it did. Could you do me a favor and help me spread the word to the rest of The Tribe that is yet to be discovered and that is looking for solutions by sharing this post? I appreciate you as we serve together to erradicate the soul sickness of UNworthiness!
